Fashion Collides with Technology

I had the pleasure of attending Google LA Dress Code Event on October 12, 2017.

Google Dress Code, the third event in the company’s “CS+X” series to show students from Los Angeles-based high schools that coding careers are cool!

Google presents an evening celebrating CS+Fashion hosted by special guest Cierra Ramirez. CS+X series where the Computer Science education team travels across the US talking to students about how their passions can become coding careers. Dress Code will follow hacking the note, which highlighted CS+Music and Program beat, which encourages students to see how dance comes alive with code.

It was so amazing to see and hear young people share about their journeys into the industry. We heard from fashion designers, influencers, and technological creatives.

Panelist of influencers shared how they were able to break into to the industry by simply following their dreams.

I enjoyed listening to the panelist encourage teens to follow their dreams, and create their own lanes rather than trying to fit into someone else's expectation of a career.

I loved the interactive stations where teens could see how to make their dreams come to life through technology.

I'm an advocate and mentor for teens therefore, I commend Google for hosting such an inspiring event for teens to help them grow , and develop into successful individuals.
